AD/HD Treatment, Counseling, and Coaching
At North Phoenix Counseling, we care about seeing children succeed socially and academically. Discovering that your child might have Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) can bring about a series of questions that our clinical team is prepared to answer. Here are some of the ways our office can support your child and your family:
1) Through medical and clinical testing & assessments, we can help clearly diagnose the type and severity of your child's AD/HD.
2) Our counselors can provide ongoing behavior support in coordination with your child's psychiatrist or pediatritian in order to track behavioral and academic improvements.
3) Our behavior coach provides in-home services that will help your family develop organizational systems to establish a home enviornment that is conducive to increasing your child's focus and decreasing disciplinary problems. Our behavior coach can also coordinate services with your child's school in order to help increase his/her overall academic performance.
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) estimates that 3% to 5% of children have AD/HD, although some experts estimate AD/HD may occur in 8% to 10% of school-aged children.
We also understand & treat Adult AD/HD...
Many adults with untreated AD/HD grow up adjusting their lives to their unique way of thinking and may feel their condition may not be impacting quality of life. However, these are the same individuals who may find themselves getting in financial trouble due to overindulging tendencies that could evolve into full-blown addictions. Adults with AD/HD may struggle in relationships where their partner feels alone and frustrated or may encounter problems in school or work due to proctrastination, inattentiveness, and lack of focus on activities that require sustained mental effort.
Some of the most successful entrepreneurs have AD/HD. In fact, it is estimated that adults with AD/HD are three times more likely to own their own business. People with AD/HD are gifted, creative, and original thinkers. Unfortunately, their distractibility, impulsivity, and restlessness may lead them to underachieve at school, work, and in relationships.
Our clinical team is prepared to help transform your potential into focused possibilities.
